About Mike

Dr. Mike Ayers is an author, speaker, educator, and fatherhood expert who helps dads live with greater presence, deeper purpose, and fewer regrets. He is the author of the forthcoming book, Father Friend: How Intentional Dads Lean In, Lead Well, and Love Big at Every Stage, and creator of the Father Friend framework, a research-informed model that helps fathers understand what their children need from them through every stage of life. The model is also featured in Mike’s five-part fatherhood video series on RightNow Media.

Mike holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership, with doctoral research focused on leadership influence and identity formation in children and adolescents. He currently teaches leadership and business administration at Grayson College in North Texas. His background spans more than three decades of leadership, higher education, and ministry, including 25 years as the founding pastor of The Brook Church Community in the Houston area.

Through his writing, speaking, and Father Friend podcast, Mike brings together leadership principles, child development research, biblical wisdom, and the experience of raising three children to adulthood. Above every professional accomplishment, he considers being a dad to Ryan, Brandon, and Kaley his greatest joy and most important work. He lives in North Texas with his wife, Amy, a licensed professional counselor.
